Starry Starry Night...

Starry Night
(http://www.vangoghgallery.com/)

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land...

... "Vincent" , by Don McLean

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I heard this song many years ago.

I like this song very much.

But, I didn't know who is the Vincent as in this song.

Until yesterday, when i attended my English class,

my teacher explained this song for us.

Finally, I realise that the Vincent in the song is Vincent van Gogh.

I read the lyric of this song again and again.

This is a sad song.

He was a tragic painter.

He faced many setbacks in his short life.

I feel sad about his life。

But, I think he was great.

He created something beautiful in this world.

He saw the beautiful blossom blooming in the early spring,

He saw the fluctuation of the hills and the field of wheat blowing in breeze,

He saw the rotation of stars in the summer night,

He suffer from the mental illness...

でも、
But...

He saw the most beautiful things in the world.
With his very own pure heart.

でも、
But...

How about us ?

Are we trying to slow down our busy footsteps of life?

Are we still able to see them ?

Do you still remember that time when you looking at the sky, in the beautiful starry night ?

i like your post! =)
vincent van gogh..i think he was a great painter! i knew and read about him since i was 10 years old..the most impressive masterpiece that i remembered until now is "Sunflowers".
Personally, i like the brilliant colours that he used..but if u really "feel" them with your heart, you'll see the dull side of those paintings..poor vincent..

Starry, Starry Night....
This is one of my favourite songs
A song that is both beautiful and sad ..
Written by Don Maclean as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh, a great artist, who was unrecognised as an artist until after his death..
The song discribe different paintings done by Vincent..
Very, very touching song ....

I enjoy your post. Tks.
